ENGLISH
Refer to: Ms Chionh Chew Peng
Instructions: Go the her website, click on 'LOWER SECONDARY HOLIDAY ASSIGNMENT!' and download the respective three documents. They either end with doc(for Word 2003&before) or docx(for Word 2007)
Items needed: Microsoft Word (to view the documents) and Microphone.
Method of work: Oral Portfolio
You're supposed to record on two topics with both formal and informal domain. Then, complete 4 self-assessment sheets. Also, 2 pages of journal/reflection.
Topics:
1. Introduction to a place of interest. Select your own attractions.
> Formal - Role: Tour guide Audience: A group of American tourists.
> Informal - Role: Student leader Audience: Your juniors in school
2. Current Affairs. Research on a current affair.
> Formal - Role: Newscaster Audience: Public
> Informal - Role: Student Audience: Your classmates
Record your presentations and burn them into a disc (no fire involved). Then submit all the work to your English teacher when school reopens. For more info, refer to the respective documents.
MATHEMATICS

Prepare: Pencil, rough paper (for workings) and calculator
Log into Ace Learning (from 8am on 4/11/08 to 10pm on 19/12/08) and finish up all the holiday homework, which accounts more than 1 quiz. Marks counted towards Sec 3 CA1 Mathematics.
If you've forgotten: both username and password are your NRIC number.
SOCIAL STUDIES

Do DETAILED notes after reading Sec 3 textbook: Social Studies Textbook 3 S/E/NA. Can be handwritten or type-written. Hand up during 1st SS lesson.
